Welcome to Undead Guitars! For my first post I’d like to present my ‘Blackened Carl’ build. This guitar was inspired by James Hetfield’s Garage Days guitar. He named it ‘Carl’.

My guitar was made from a beautifully dense piece of African Mahogany, pre-cut to shape by Leo Jaymz Guitars. I glued 4 rugged boards, 3/8″ thick, to the face. It was stained with a combination of vinegar & steel wool, black-cherry stain, and a blowtorch. It has a maple neck with an ebony fretboard. The hardware is all Guyker. The pickups are of course, black-chrome James Hetfield EMGs.
